High Tea at Tirohana Estate, Martinborough, Wairarapa

We are excited to announce the Tirohana Estate High Tea, which is available daily between 11am and 4.30pm (reservations recommended). This mouth watering treat is almost like a meal in itself, and can serve 2 people or more with extra tiers added. It’s High Tea down to a T!

An alternative ‘light meal’ to platters, there is a light bite option for 2 people to share one high tea in a very cost effective way, around $12.50 per person (compared to the normal $25 per person).

The $25 High Tea meal includes both sweet and savoury selections, with a cheese option. Yes, there will be cream and preserves, along with butter for your scones! But also Macarons and Chocolate Torte, to satisfy even the most demanding sweet tooth. And savouries include Cheese Tarts, Smoked Salmon Choux Pastry, Crostini of the day and sliders.

Please note, the Tirohana High Tea is structured as a well-priced high tea ‘meal’ (an alternative to platters) offering great value for the actual meal element itself, with drinks not being included in the rate (this is to make it fair to all our clients so guests who prefer wine, for example, are not then ‘forced’ to pay a higher inclusive amount for tea or coffee they wouldn’t be consuming if they preferred to have soft drinks or wine with their High Tea meal).

We do have a range of beverages to choose from and most of our clients who choose a High Tea prefer to match it with one of our wine varieties, available by the glass or the bottle. We do have tea and coffee available of course as an additional charge to the meal itself for those preferring a hot drink with their meal (as opposed to wine). Or, to indulge and spoil yourself further, you might wish to enjoy a cocktail or mocktail such as a Bucks Fizz (Mimosa). So though the majority of our High Tea diners prefer to enjoy it with a glass of their favourite Tirohana Estate wine, there are non-alcoholic drinks (soft drinks, juices) available too should you prefer.

If you’re feeling extra peckish, you’re also able to order a Starter or Dessert off our Luncheon menu.

Tirohana Cellars vineyard restaurant is also open seven days per week for dinner and lunch, bookings are essential. You can book a table using our online form and sample our lunch menu and dinner menu (though our fare is freshly prepared and seasonal and subject to change).
