Tirohana Estate is a boutique vineyard & winery in Martinborough with an award-winning restaurant, food & wines. We are open seven days per week for lunch & dinner, all day dining and high tea, and wine tasting of our boutique, handmade wines in our Cellar Door. On site Vinestay accommodation (with packages available). And don’t forget our Emporium shop with a range of delicious estate-produced chutneys, jams and preserves and a wide selection of available gifts.

Anzac Day 25th April
We’ll be honouring Anzac Day in Martinborough and paying our respects in the morning on Sat 25th April. The rest of the day, we are open for lunch, dinner, Cellar Door and high tea. As always, there will be no public holiday surcharge at Tirohana.
Mother’s Day Weekend at Tirohana Estate – Sunday May 10th
Over Mother’s Day weekend in 2026 we will be open for lunch, dinner and all day dining, as well as Tirohana high tea (reservations recommended!).

Mid-Winter Christmas Event in 2026 at Tirohana Estate, Martinborough (Lunch/Dinner)
We are pleased to announce that our iconic annual Mid-Winter Christmas Event (Lunch/Dinner) is returning to Tirohana Estate for 2026 in June & July in June (weekend of 26th-28th June and weekend 24th-26th July). It’s a Martinborough tradition not to be missed!
The restaurant will be transformed into a magical Christmas winter wonderland, with twinkling fairy lights, Christmas trees, evocative music, mulled wine, the warmth of the open roaring fire and potbelly stove. For more information or to make a booking, please contact the Tirohana team!
Now available – ‘Pinot Noir LEGEND 2024 Special Reserve’
Many will remember our late founder, Ray, who sadly passed away in 2025. Ray was passionate about the natural world and wine, and was so pivotal in everything to do with Tirohana. In honour and celebration of Ray – and in the spirit of honouring all ‘Legends’ everywhere – we are very proud and delighted to introduce our ‘Pinot Noir LEGEND 2024 Special Reserve’.
Available now, this is a ‘one-off’, very limited edition wine (with only two barrels were produced) available in hand-numbered labelled bottles. You can read the tasting notes here.

Autumn Season 2026
We are open in Martinborough each day of the Autumn season for lunch and dinner. We also have all day dining options available including our lighter-style options being the Tirohana High Tea or our Terrace Light Bites Menu. Outdoor dining (with shaded umbrellas) is also available on our outside patio terrace overlooking the vines.
Our restaurant can cater for bookings of all sizes if you are considering a special occasion with a group of family, friends or corporate retreat.
Our Cellar Door at the vineyard in Martinborough is open each day for wine tastings and bottle sales of our boutique wines including the latest releases and some older varieties from the cellar. And the atmospheric Emporium has a range of gifts, artisan house made jams, wine jellies, chutneys, relishes and much more.

If you can’t bear to leave 🙂 , then why not stay? Tirohana Colonial House is available for groups from 2 up until 16 people. We have a range of accommodation packages including our Girls Night In, the Autumn Celebration package, mid-week specials and other special offers. Or, you might even wish to indulge yourself with your own personal chef for private dining! Please enquire for the best package to fit your requirements.

The Tirohana Terrace Light Bites menu is served daily (bookings recommended) year round at Tirohana Estate. Offering a selection of lighter options perfect for casual dining, available on the terraces overlooking the vineyard, or in the cellar door area.
Tirohana High Tea, served daily and all day
The Tirohana High Tea is served daily (bookings recommended) year round at Tirohana Estate’s Vineyard estate in Martinborough. This offers a lighter option and is a well priced experience which can be served inside or outside overlooking the vines – so if you have a craving for scones and cakes (savouries too), wherever you’re from – the Wairarapa, the Greater Wellington area or further afield – the Tirohana High Tea has high tea down to a t! 🙂
